PROFILE

Leon Corsten was born in Roermond (the Netherlands) in 1978. Leon has been creative since he was a child, and continued his creative activities alongside his studies. He spent much of his spare time drawing. Due to time limitations during his education, however, he was forced to discontinue his hobby in 2002.

At the end of 2007 Leon was able to take up his hobby again and attended several courses. Leon then went on to develop his skills in realistic and photorealistic art in Antwerp (Belgium). There, he learned various fine art methods, such as the use of watercolour pencils. His current works are created using mixed techniques and are based on acrylic paint. For this, Leon usually uses a foundation of SchoellersHammer illustration boards or canvas. Leon regularly attends courses and workshops in order to learn new techniques. At home, he also experiments with various possibilities such as watercolours, charcoal, graphite, pastel and simply anything he can use.
